March Print of the Month & Ask Me Anything

My pick for the March, 2020 Print-of-the-Month is titled, Autumn Decadence.

The exquisitely patterned mud left along canyon bottoms in the wakes of flash floods generally only lasts for a day or two before it begins to crack as it dries. The night before making this image, I camped on a high ledge above the canyon. A procession of thunderstorms passed through during the afternoon and evening hours, replete with thunder, lightning, hail, rain, and rainbows. Despite the powerful drama, I was excited at the thought of what tomorrow’s mud would look like.

Also, this coming Wednesday, March 4th, starting at 9am Mountain Time, I will be hosting an “Ask Me Anything” session, courtesy of Nature Photographer’s Network. If there’s anything you’d like to ask me or if you just wish to follow along, I hope you can join. Please click this link and scroll to the bottom of the page for details on how to participate. I’m looking forward to it!

  1. Guy, this image is exquisite! I have been many times in the canyons and have looked upon similar mud “dunes” but have not been able to capture one for various reasons. Thank you for sharing this image and your vision. I look forward to adding this literally moving image to my collection.
